10 tips to maintain your Bose Sport Earbuds

If you own a Bose Sport Earbuds or any other earbuds here’s how you can maintain it.

Earbuds, earphones, and headphones are now an essential component of our existence. It’s critical to keep your eartips and the mesh grilles that cover them clean and debris-free. If there is debris on either, the speakers in your product may be damaged and the sound quality would be affected. Here are some tips for you to learn how to clean your earbuds properly.

Cleaning the ear tips

Remove the tips from the earbuds
Wash the ear tips with mild soap
Rinse the ear tips clean with water
Dry the ear tips with a soft cloth
Before reattaching the ear tips, leave them in the open for an extended period so any excess moisture can dry.

Remove the ear tips from the earbuds
Lightly wipe mesh screens on the openings of the earbuds with a soft dry cloth. Take care not to push earwax or debris into the openings.

If earwax has built up on your earbuds and cannot be wiped off, follow these steps to remove it.

Remove the tips from your earbuds
Put on protective gloves for your skin before you begin cleaning
Use a soft cloth or tissue to apply a small amount of hydrogen peroxide (3% concentration only) to the mesh surface at the opening of the earbud. Take care not to allow excess liquid to enter the opening
Let the hydrogen peroxide sit for 5 minutes so it can soften the wax
Wet a soft-bristled toothbrush with hydrogen peroxide (3% concentration only)
Gently scrub the mesh surface to loosen and remove the wax. Take care not to allow excess liquid to enter the opening of the earbud
Once clean, gently shake out any excess liquid and debris
Dry earbud with a soft cloth
Before reattaching the ear tips, leave your earbuds in the open for an extended period so any excess moisture can dry.

To keep your earbuds secure, aside from the aforementioned cleaning methods, you should always store them in a secure place.

1. Keep your Bose Sport Earbuds in a safe place.

2. Make sure the ear tips fit snugly in your ears.

3. Be gentle when handling the cord.

4. Avoid getting the earbuds wet.

5. Clean the ear tips and earbud housing regularly.

6. Store the earbuds in their case when not in use.

7. Disconnect the headphones from your device before putting them away.

8. Use the cleaning tool to remove debris from the ear tips and ports.

9. Charge the battery regularly.
